These Eight Baseball Stars Could Get Traded At Any Moment

Major League Baseball’s trade deadline isn’t until July 31, but with roughly a third of the season gone by rumours have begun to swirl. The fact that baseball now has an extra wild card means teams will probably wait a bit longer before unloading bad contracts and/or looking toward next year.

On the flip side, the extra wild card also means more and more teams will be buyers and be pushing to acquire that extra player that can get them over the hump.

We’ve narrowed all of those rumours down to eight players we think would have the most impact on their potentially new ball club.

We then listed the teams that are rumoured to be interested in their services or could use an upgrade at that position, as well as picked where we think each will actually end up.

All statistics are current as of games played through June 6, 2012.

The Minnesota Twins look primed for a mini firesale with their dreadful start, so expect slugging 1B/DH Justin Morneau to be gone soon

2012 stats: .230 AVG, 10 HR, 29 RBI

Teams interested: Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers

Prediction: Texas Rangers

Kansas City Royals closer Jonathan Broxton would give a huge jolt to any bullpen, and bring back considerable value to his terrible team

2012 stats: 14 saves, 1.59 ERA

Teams interested: Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels

Prediction: Los Angeles Angels

By now there's basically no turning back from the fact that Kevin Youkilis has worn out his welcome in Boston

2012 stats: .234 AVG, 4 HR, 12 RBI

Teams interested: Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox

Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers

Carlos Lee has a no trade clause, but the Houston Astros are going no where fast so the veteran may concede to a trade at some point

2012 stats: .297 AVG, 4 HR, 23 RBI

Teams interested: Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians

Prediction: Stays put because of giant contract

With the Milwaukee Brewers off to a terrible start look for them to unload soon to be free agent Zach Greinke (best pitcher on the market) onto a contender

2012 stats: 6-2, 3.46 ERA

Teams interested: Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles

Prediction: Baltimore Orioles

Carlos Quentin has gotten off to a crazy start after missing a bunch of games to open the year. The San Diego Padres will surely send him packing

2012 stats: .522 AVG, 5 HR, 9 RBI

Teams interested: Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves

Prediction: Cincinnati Reds

A struggling, but very talented Matt Garza isn't long for the rebuilding Chicago Cubs who need help just about everywhere

2012 stats: 2-4, 4.10 ERA

Teams interested: New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers

Prediction: New York Yankees

The Colorado Rockies' Jason Giambi can still be productive on a part time basis, especially for an American League club

2012 stats: .250 AVG, 1 HR, 7 RBI

Teams interested: New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Indians

Prediction: Cleveland Indians

But these guys aren't going anywhere...
