Once Again, There Was A No-Hitter In Baseball With A Controversial Ending

The Seattle Mariners no-hit the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight. But, if not for a favourable call in the 9th inning, there would have never been a no-no.

Kevin Millwood, was cruising with a no-hitter through six innings, but was unable to start the seventh inning after suffering an apparent groin injury during his warm-up pitches prior to the inning. Five relievers would then combine to record the final nine outs without a hit, completing the no-hitter.

But after a blown call took a perfect game away from Armando Galarraga, a possible blown call gave Philip Humber a perfect game, and a definite blown call gave Johan Santana a no-hitter, it was only fitting that the first out of the ninth inning might have been missed.
