MLB Considers "Concussions Only" Disabled List

Major League Baseball is reportedly considering a new 7-day disabled list that would accommodate only players who have suffered a concussion. This would presumably make it easier for teams to deactivate players who only need a few days rest after a head injury, without submitting them to the full 15 days off that the normal DL requires.

Seems like a pretty simple, but useful change. It benefits player health, while also taking pressure off teams that feel the need to force players back into the lineup before they’re ready.

And it shows the league can be occasionally proactive. We hope other leagues are paying attention.
