The Romney campaign announced this morning that it had raised more than $101.3 million in July in a joint effort with the Republican National Committee. It’s the second straight month that Romney has raised more than $100 million. The Obama campaign has yet to release its July fundraising totals. But the Romney Victory effort outpaced the Obama campaign in both May and June, outraising Obama by an astounding $35 million in June.
“Once again we see that for many people, this is more than a campaign, it is a cause,” Romney finance chair Spencer Zwick said in a release. “We are honored to have the support of a broad spectrum of donors—Independents, Democrats and Republicans—whose support of Governor Romney shows that he has the needed plan to jumpstart our economy and get the country on the right track again.”
Only a quarter of the Romney campaign’s overall donation total came from small donations of $250 or less, though they did make up 94 per cent of donations.
The Romney campaign and RNC have $185.9 million cash on hand.
