Microsoft May Update Hotmail With Its First Major Redesign In Years

New Hotmail

After years of doing virtually nothing to update its e-mail service, Microsoft may finally give Hotmail a new look – and perhaps even a new name., a Windows-focused blog, has received several screengrabs that claim to show what the redesigned Hotmail will look like.

In the pictures, Hotmail has a much sleeker look and feel that resembles the Windows 8 Metro interface. The screengrabs also suggest that Microsoft has changed the name of the service to Newmail, though it’s possible this is just the name that Microsoft uses with prototypes.
