The Michelin Guide for New York City 2012 just came out, and two restaurants have received the highly coveted three-star ranking for the first time.Congratulations to Eleven Madison Park and Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare.

They join just five other New York City restaurants at the three-star level.

The recognition is notable since there are only 93 restaurants with three stars worldwide.

Nine restaurants received two Michelin stars, including new additions L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon and SHO Shaun Hergatt. 40-six restaurants earned one Michelin star.

Rival restaurant ranker Zagat also released its 2012 New York survey results this week.
