Later today in London, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte will go for gold in what some are calling the “must-see” race of the Games, the 200 meter individual medley. Phelps is the defending Olympic champion of the event, and he barely edged out Ryan Lochte at the 2012 Olympic swimming trials. Lochte took the bronze in Beijing, and 2008 silver medalist Laszlo Cseh will be in the field as well.
Lochte will have to overcome a tough schedule if he wants to dethrone Phelps, though. Lochte will swim in the 200 meter backstroke final just a half-hour before the 200 IM starts.
