The Miami Heat just added another all-star to their already potent lineup. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Ray Allen has chosen to sign with the Heat over returning to the Boston Celtics (via Twitter).Mickey Arison, the owner of the Heat also sent out a tweet saying he is in London and was “just woken up with great news,” adding “welcome to the family #20!!”
The Heat were already the favourites to repeat as Eastern Conference champions and have now added the one piece many thought they were missing, a lethal jump shooter.
Allen, who will be 37 next season, is a 10-time NBA All-Star and averaged 14.2 points per game this past season, his fifth with the Celtics. Allen has averaged 20.0 points per game during his 16-year career.
