Mercedes-Benz has bought the naming rights to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, according to Pro Football Talk. From PFT:
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Saints and the State of Louisiana will announce on Tuesday a 10-year deal that will, as a practical matter, generate enough revenue to end Louisiana’s financial obligations to the team.
The stadium will host the 2013 Super Bowl, which PFT cited as a big reason for Mercedes’ interest in locking up the rights.
The dome is perhaps best known for serving as a shelter during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
