Two weeks ago, McDonald’s Germany launched a new ad campaign for McCafé bubble team with a few ads it hoped would go viral for the drink’s launch yesterday.
The ads, which according to BuzzFeed came from the Munich-based HeyeOMD, show an Asian man comically showing off the popular Taiwanese drink. Unfortunately, viewers around the globe aren’t taking to the Golden Arches’ new campaign.
With slightly less than 400,000 views on YouTube, dislikes are outpacing likes at a rate of over 2-1. Furthermore, many commenters, particularly those claiming to be Taiwanese, are posting comments like this:
Regardless if you are personally offended — racist viral campaigns aren’t good for business.
