During the Miss America pageant Sunday night, Miss Texas Margana Wood choked up as she challenged the comments President Trump made after the deadly protest in Charlottesville last month.

In the question-and-answer portion of the pageant, Wood was asked what she thought of President Trump saying that there were “very fine people” on both sides of the protest.

Wood had 20 seconds to deliver her response — but only needed 15.

Wood’s response:

“I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious, that it was a terrorist attack. And I think that President Donald Trump should have made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country. That is the number one issue right now.”

Wood ended her brief reply, with a roar of applause from the crowd. She didn’t win the crown Sunday, but she certainly won over the audience.
