The Beer Machine Marc Newson Designed Looks Just Like A Mac Pro

Marc Newson’s latest design is a beer machine called The Sub. It’s the result of a collaboration with Heineken and Krups.

Newson is a close friend of Apple’s lead designer, Jony Ive.

The Sub works like a Keurig for beer. You purchase capsules called “torps” that, when inserted into the machine, produce draft-quality beer at home.

The machine looks strikingly like a Mac Pro.

Here’s one for comparison:

They look identical, right? It’s as if Heineken told Newson to repurpose an Apple product and slap a new logo on it.

That’s didn’t stop Newson from calling the beer machine “a kind of revolutionary shift in terms of this particular product” in an interview with Dezeen.

The Sub costs €249 and will go on sale in the UK next year.
