Ahead of the nonfarm payrolls report and a fresh reading of unemployment in the U.S., Business Insider compiled jobless rates for the U.S.’s 3,033 counties and mapped them to better illustrate difficulties different regions of the country are facing.
Overall, unemployment currently stands at 8.3 per cent, but has been steadily declining from highs in 2011. Although consensus for tomorrow’s reading is for no change to the headline rate, more than a quarter of economists polled by Bloomberg see a 10 basis point fall to 8.2 per cent
Economists anticipate the nation’s private employers added 218,000 new positions during the month.
