This Is The Trick Play That Blew Up In Alabama's Face And Cost Them A Shot At The National Championship

Last night’s “Game of the Century” between #1 LSU and #2 Alabama was a defensive struggle that a lot of people found incredibly boring.

The game with riddled with missed field goals, silly interceptions, and a glaring lack of offensive playmaking.

The pivotal play game early in the fourth quarter when Alabama had the ball deep in LSU territory with the game tied at 6-6. If they were just able to kick a field goal, they would have had LSU on the ropes.

Instead, Nick Saban decided to run a trick wide-receiver pass from Marquis Maze to Michael Williams. The pass looked to be complete on first glance, but LSU safety Eric Reid incredibly wrestled the ball away from Williams in mid air for a monster interception.

LSU won 9-6 in overtime.
