British MP Louise Mensch had a hell of a 2011, what with her prominent role in the phone hacking scandal, a tit-for-tat spat with Piers Morgan, and an alleged “smear” about her taking drugs in front of journalists.
Now she’s taking 2012 by storm, with an interview with British GQ and a set of racy (though, in her defence, not fleshy) pictures to accompany it.
According to excerpts of the interview published by the Telegraph, Mensch used the interview to complain that it was wrong to “trivialize a woman politician based on her appearance”.
Complaining about her lack of promotion within the party, Mensch said
“I’m not even a PPS [parliamentary private secretary].”
“It’s kind of annoying. What do I have to do to get promoted over here? Am I being disloyal? I don’t know.
“I need to sit down with my whip and say ‘what do I have to do?'”
She continued: “Everything I had said was washed away under the fluffy-bunny thing of looks. It is Theresa May’s kitten heels all over again.”
The article is titled “Iron Maiden” and features Mensch, Conservative MP for Corby, wearing a £485 ($755) Dolce & Gabbana leather skirt.
