Writing in the LinkedIn blog, Vincente Silveira says that LinkedIn was in fact compromised this morning.Here’s the takeaway from his post:
- users whose passwords were stolen will notice that their passwords don’t work anymore
- those users will receive an email with instructions on how to reset their passwords — these emails will not contain any links for security reasons
- affected users will receive a second email from LinkedIn customer support offering some more information
Quite a difficult day for the social networking site for professionals.
