The last week of April was by far the best week of the year in terms of luxury real estate sales in New York City.
All told, 22 contracts were signed on properties asking $4 million or more, the most recorded in a single week in 2012, according to the Olshan Luxury Market Report.
10 of those contracts were for downtown condos in Manhattan, while three were for townhouses.
The biggest sale was for a 12-room duplex at 88 Central Park West, which had asked $22 million, according to the report. The second biggest was a townhouse on the Upper East Side, which had been listed at $11.45 million.
