LaMichael James‘ Heisman candidacy is in serious jeopardy following his gruesome arm injury in Thursday night’s victory over California.
Having already rushed for 239 rushing yards, the Oregon running back fractured his elbow near the goal line early in the fourth quarter. His arm bent back in a way arms are not meant to bend.
He said he suffered “the exact same” injury in high school and returned to action the following week. James won’t even rule out playing next week.
But a speedy recovery remains highly optimistic. And Oregon may be forced to play without their 2010 Heisman finalist and 4,000-yard career rusher for an extended period of time.
