- Lady Gaga revealed that someone once told her to get a nose job.
- Gaga said even before she was famous she refused to change herself.
- She said she also did everything her own way, regardless of what people wanted.
Lady Gaga said her physical appearance was criticised before she was famous but she refused to change anything.
“Before my first single ever came out, it was suggested I get a nose job,” she told The Mirror. “But I said, ‘No. I love my Italian nose.'”
“If people wanted me to look like a sexpot, I would look like the opposite,” she said. “If they said, ‘Try dancing and looking this way,’ I would always flip it on its head and do it my way.”
Gaga’s insecurities and her own experiences helped shape her character Ally in “A Star Is Born.” At one point in the movie, Ally talks about how she’s been told her nose is too big for her to make it as a musician.
“When my character talks about how ugly she feels – that was real,” Gaga told The Mirror. “I’m so insecure.”
Gaga has spoken about her insecurities before. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Gaga said Cooper wiped makeup off her face during her audition.
“It put me right in the place I needed to be, because when my character talks about how ugly she feels – that was real,” Gaga said. “I’m so insecure. I like to preach, but I don’t always practice what I preach.”
“A Star Is Born” will be released Friday, October 5.
