Kevin Love is not happy with the direction the Minnesota Timberwolves are going.Love told Yahoo! Sports his patience is running thin with management and they need to make some major roster upgrades soon.
He’s expressed similar concerns in the past, but was a bit more adamant this time around after hearing about all of the success his U.S. Olympic teammates have had recently.
“It’s tough seeing all these guys that are young and older who have all played in the playoffs. When they start talking about that, I have nothing to talk about. If I don’t make the playoffs next year I don’t know what will happen.“
The 23-year-old All-Star forward recently signed a five-year contract extension, but he can opt out of the deal after three years.
Minnesota has made a few moves this offseason by acquiring Chase Budinger from the Houston Rockets and signing Brandon Roy out of retirement. But the T’Wolves desperately need Ricky Rubio back from injury if they plan on making a serious playoff push. They completely fell apart after he went down last season.
Love says he’s confident the team will do its best to improve the roster, but he won’t wait around forever.
“If we don’t make the playoffs, I don’t know it’s going to be me or something, but our management needs to step up and make some moves.”
