Kentucky won its eighth National Championship in dominating fashion. Despite a late run by Kansas, the game was never really in doubt with the Wildcats’ 67-59 win that wasn’t that close. But while the game was a bit of a bore, there were still plenty of highlights, on and off the court.

On the next few pages, let’s take a look back at some of the highlights from last night that won’t be seen on the highlight shows…

Early on, there was apparently some concern over the weather even though the game was inside one of our country's biggest domes

Anthony Davis made it to the Superdome in his personalised Beats by Dre (very expensive) and Final Four Mardi Gras beads (very cheap)

These fans paid a lot for these seats and then left their clothes at home

This match-up was indeed historical

It's the National Anthem! Why is that so easy for some to screw up?

We have a man down with an apparent shoulder injury

So by all means, let's help him up by pulling on his arm

The attendance topped 70,000 (considerably less could actually see the game without binoculars)

Even the best player in the game is subject to contact issues

Kentucky started to pull away early on, and had a huge lead at the half

Clark Kellog visited the president at halftime (without a tie). But there was no game of H.O.R.S.E. this year.

These games have become a costume contest for some

Wait, the 2013 Championship is going to be held in Alanta, Lithuania?

Amazingly, Kentucky had a huge lead despite Anthony Davis not scoring his first point until this free throw with 15 minutes left in the game

In the end, Kentucky was just too much

Just ask this Kansas fan

Trying to mess up John Calipari's hair is waste of time

Which makes us wonder what happens to the Kansas newspapers with the same headline?

Cut it down big fella!

Anthony Davis' family celebrated their son winning Most Outstanding player

sceptical fans think John Calipari will just have to hand this trophy back in the near future

But it is nice to see one of the game's best coaches finally win it all

Even Dick Vitale seemed elated with Kentucky's win

Your school just won their eighth national title, how are you going to celebrate?

Now let's go back and relive the wild scene from Saturday's Final Four
