Katie Holmes suddenly fired Tom Cruise‘s daughter Isabella, from her job at Katie’s clothing line two months ago, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Katie’s clothing line, Holmes and Yang, is said to be doing well, and Isabella, whom Cruise adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, was said to be shaken up by the news.
The Hollywood Reporter writes:
A former Scientologist with close ties to members of Cruise’s family says his adopted daughter Isabella worked for Holmes at her clothing line, Holmes and Yang, and was abruptly fired about two months ago.
“There was never any trouble between them,” says the source. “Bella called Katie ‘mum.’ She was fired out of the blue, and once Katie filed for divorce, it all made sense. This was a carefully planned ambush. Katie didn’t want Bella working for her anymore because she was Tom’s kid.”
Katie couldn’t afford to have Cruise’s 19-year-old daughter so close any more as she was plotting divorce, according to the story.
Commenters on the site speculated that Cruise’s PR team planted the story to make Katie look bad.
Cruise has fought back in recent days, saying that his religion, Scientology, wasn’t to blame in their divorce.
The couple released a joint statement today, asking for privacy and saying they were working together for the best interests of their young daughter, Suri.
