We’ve been told that Lady Gaga and Kanye West are investing in Turntable.fm.They’re contributing to the $7.5 million Turntable financing round we announced weeks ago. BetaBeat reported and we can confirm that Union Square Ventures is a lead investor.

(Kanye West and Jay-Z threw a launch party for the Watch The Throne Tour at the American Museum of Natural History in New York last night. The artists were there, and so were we. We sat behind Busta Rhymes, sup sup.)

People have been questioning whether or not Turntable.fm’s business is legal. Getting influential artists as investors might help smooth those waters.
