Justin Verlander Surprises One Of His Biggest Fans, An 11-Year-Old With Cystic Fibrosis

Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander has a huge fan. Her name is Shayna Hersch, she’s 11-years-old, and when she was born, she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.

Hersch is the only girl who plays for her town’s baseball team (she refuses to play softball) and is Verlander’s biggest fan. Family and friends sent letters and tweets to Verlander and the MLB Fan Cave, and the Tigers listened and flew Hersch to NYC to watch the Tigers-Yankees game, and stop by the MLB Fan Cave.

She also got a special visit from Verlander himself. Take a look
