Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, has lost his UK high court appeal against a European arrest warrant in his name.Assange is now likely to be extradited to Sweden to face sexual charges, reports The Guardian. He remains on bail before a decision about a further appeal in the UK’s Supreme Court can be made.
Assange’s defence had largely rested upon differing interpretations of rape between UK law and Swedish law.
In a brief statement outside court, Assange pointed reporters towards the website swedenversusassange.com “if [they] really want to know what’s going on in this case”, according to reports from MSNBC.
