JPMorgan Poaches Barclays' Malaysia CEO

Jamie Dimon Poaching Talent

JPMorgan is making moves in Singapore with the announcement today that the company has hired Barclays’ Malaysia CEO, Steve Clayton away from the London bank to run its own operations in the growing market.

As demonstrated by his deal last year with Bank Islam, Clayton has a strong and proven track record in Singapore and his presence within JPMorgan as Managing Director and Senior Country Officer will add gravitas to JPMorgan’s operations during a time when its competitors are looking to add staff to their Singapore-based operations.

Maybe Dimon and Co. aren’t done poaching local talent, but if he isn’t, it stands to reason that he will face a lot more competition going forward.
