The man convicted of killing one woman and suspected in the death of another is about to be a dad.Joran Van der Sloot, who was convicted in 2010, is serving a 28-year-sentence in the robbery and death of Stephany Flores.
He is also the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway killing.
And now his lawyer Maximo Altez has confirmed to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that a woman, identified only as “Leidi,” is about three months pregnant with Van der Sloot’s baby, The Associated Press reported Monday.
Van der Sloot also reportedly confirmed the pregnancy in a telephone call, saying that Leidi was on birth control but must have forgotten to take it before she had an unsupervised visit with him.
“Leidi” has refused to get an abortion because of her religion, Van der Sloot reportedly told De Telegraaf. The nature of the woman’s relationship with Van der Sloot is unclear.
