That Jon Stewart doesn’t necessarily have a sense of humour about himself is not perhaps a shocker.
Viewers certainly got a dose of angry Stewart during his much-talked about interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace this summer.
But to hear Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane tell it, Jon Stewart really can’t take a joke. Also? He sounds a bit scary.
The Family Guy joke that set Stewart off dates back to the the 2007 Writers Guild strike. The Daily Show did not go dark during the strike, and MacFarlane thought they should have.
Afterward, Stewart called MacFarlane and yelled at him for an hour: “Who the hell made you the moral arbiter of Hollywood!?”
Equally as interesting was MacFarlane’s reluctance to discuss the argument with Piers Morgan. In fact, he appeared shocked that Morgan even knew about it: “If I say yes [to the irony of him haranguing me], he’s gonna crucify me on his show every night for a year.”
