Jon Stewart joined the pile-on in criticising President Barack Obama’s debate performance against Republican nominee Mitt Romney, saying the overwhelming consensus on how badly the president did had finally brought together a “deeply divided nation.””There is no red America, there is no blue America, there is only the America that can’t believe how bad this guy did in the debate,” Stewart said.
What made the dreadful performance more astounding, Stewart said, was that it came despite the fact that Romney said he would cut PBS funding.
“[Romney] fired Big Bird and won!” Stewart said, incredulously. “He could have water-boarded Aladdin, put down Blue, deported Dora the Explorer and still won walking away.”
Stewart advised Obama to employ a different strategy in the next debate. Just say, “Liar! Liar! Liar!” in his two-minutes of allotted rebuttal time.
