You'll Never Guess What Jon Corzine Did The Night Before MF Global's Disastrous Earnings

Jon Corzine

On the eve before MF Global’s dismal earnings release, Jon Corzine feasted on a steak dinner with bankers and traders at New York’s Helmsley Park Lane Hotel, Bloomberg reported.

During the event for the National organisation of Investment Professionals, he gave what guests described as a “delightful” and “spectacular” speech.

Apparently, there was no sense of “impending doom” that night emanating from the beleaguered brokerage firm’s chief executive, a guest told Bloomberg.

Of course the days following included a huge earnings loss, a Moody’s downgrade, a bankruptcy protection filing and a series of investigations including a possible FBI investigation.
