Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, “Joe the Plumber” from the 2008 presidential cycle, is running for Congress.
Capital New York spotted the filing on the website of the Federal Election Commission, which indicates Wurzelbacher will run in Ohio’s Ninth District — a seat held by Democratic Rep. Marcia Kaptur for nearly three decades.
In 2008, Wurzelbacher confronted then-Sen. Barack Obama over his tax plan — and gained instant-fame when Republican nominee John McCain repeatedly invoked his name in one of their debates.
