The Jerry Sandusky child molestation case opened today with the faces of victims flashing across a screen in the courthouse in Centre Count, Pen, according to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports. Seeing the faces of the victims previously just known as numbers, added a shock value to the court room. The defence too, opened with a shocking statement: Jerry Sandusky will testify.
Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, said that his client will tell his own side of the story to the jury. Most prosecutors thought we would only hear stories from the victims.
But Wetzel explained that still, the most “captivating scene” in court today were the photos of the victims, flashing across the screen. The photos are from when the children were in contacts with Sandusky, young, innocent faces.
Sandusky looked at all of the photos with no reaction.
State prosecutor, Joseph E. McGettigan apologized to the jury in advance for the graphic, disturbing, testimonies they will hear in the next several days.
We will keep you updated on the progress of the case as it goes on.
