Touched: The Jerry Standusky Story is the autobiography that Jerry Sandusky wrote in 2001.Now Sandusky faces life in prison for allegedly committing 40 counts of sexual child abuse on eight boys between the ages of eight and fourteen from 1994 to 2009.

The title of his autobiography isn’t the only detail that is disturbing in retrospect.

  • There’s this quote from Joe Paterno in 2008: “I always felt that Jerry had two loves: One was obviously his ability, his wanting to help younger people in The Second Mile and being a head coach. He could have been a head coach a couple places, but he really he backed away because they were going to ask him to give up some things in The Second Mile.”
  • There’s the fact that Sandusky was allowed to stage football overnight camps on PSU campuses as recently as 2009.
  • Sandusky even had his own ice cream flavour called “Sandusky Blitz” at PSU’s wildly popular Creamery.
