JCPenney has hired former Abercrombie & Fitch exec Brandon Tonniges to be its new director of visual merchandising, Sapna Maheshwari at Bloomberg reports.Tonniges was formerly a VP at Abercombie’s brand senses division, which runs the creative side of the store experience.
Three members of JCPenney’s C-suite, all hired since CEO Ron Johnson took over, are veterans of the teen retailer.
At JCPenney, Tonniges will be helping develop the store layout and design.
JCPenney is currently overhauling its physical stores under Johnson, replacing the old bazaar format with individual branded boutique-like shops.
