ISM SERVICES REPORT CRUSHES EXPECTATIONS AT 56.8

UPDATE:

Second big hit of the day.

ISM services crushed expectations at 56.8.

That’s well ahead of the 53.2 that was to be expected, and well above the 53.0 last month.

Here’s the table of sub-indices.

Check out the HUGE jump in employment plans. It jumped from a number of 49.8 in December to 57.4.

Also great: New orders, jumping to 59.4.

Coming out at 10:00 AM is the ISM non-manufacturing report for January.

Analysts are looking for a slight tick up, from last month’s 53.0 to 53.2

In general, ISM data has been solid, but not amazing.
