Do we need another dating site?

Beri Meric and Phillipp Triebel, cofounders of IvyDate, a new, semi-exclusive dating site hope so.

The duo raised $1.5 million in funding from a bunch of angel investors, including some un-named investors that have put money into Spotify, Uber, and Facebook, according to a press release.

What makes IvyDate different?

It has an admissions committee decides who can and who can’t be part of the community.

30,000 people have so far been given the nod.

If you’re admitted, the admins email you matches. Users can’t search through the database themselves.

Founders Beri Meric and Phillipp Triebel wanted to create a dating site that’s “as selective as the Ivy League, without being limited to the Ivy League.”
