Andrew Breitbart, the conservative provocateur whose untimely death interrupted his stated mission to take down President Barack Obama, was apparently not as much of a threat to the administration as the right-wing blogosphere would have liked to believe.
Ryan J. Reilly of Talking Points Memo tweeted today that the Federal Bureau of Investigation apparently did not have file on Breitbart. In response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Reilly, the FBI said in a letter that they were “unable to identify main file records” on Breitbart in the Bureau’s Central Records System.
The news will likely come as a surprise to right-wing conspiracy-theorists who have suggested that the firebrand blogger was assassinated to protect the Obama administration.
