The first iPhone was presented on January 9, 2007 and released on June 29 — 171 days.
The 3G was announced on June 9, 2008 and released on July 11, 2008 — 32 days later.
The 3GS was quicker still. Introduced on June 8, 2009 and on sale on June 19, it only took 11 days.
The iPhone 4 was announced June 7, 2010 and was on sale June 24, 2010 — 14 days.
With the exception of the first iPhone, each one was ready for sale within a few short weeks. We’re assuming that the 171 days it took for the first iPhone is a fluke.
We feel we can expect the new iPhone lineup to be available for purchase somewhere within a 2 week window after tomorrow’s keynote. Don’t you?
