Apple won’t release a new iPhone until October, John Paczkowski of All Things D reports, citing a source familiar with Apple’s plans.Until now, most reporting suggested the next iPhone — generally called iPhone 5 — would be released in September. Paczkowski’s primary source didn’t offer any dates in October, but other sources told him it would be later in the month.
We’re taking this report seriously because All Things D has a good record of reporting generally, and especially with Apple lately.
And let’s not forget the site was cofounded by Walt Mossberg who is as close to Steve Jobs as anyone in the media world. For that reason alone, we would be shocked if a wildly inaccurate report was published by the site.
