Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 to developers, a beta upgrade that addresses battery drain issues and a security problem on iPad 2s, reports PC World.First-gen iPad users will also get access to some new multi-touch gestures that allow for app switching and quicker access to the multitasking bar and home screen.

Apple is also attacking a security issue that came to public awareness somewhat recently — someone with physical access to your iPad 2 can circumvent the lock screen by using the smart cover.
