The days of flicking through a glossy magazine or perusing the daily newspaper in Australia look like they’re numbered if the chart below is anything to go by.
From Morgan Stanley, using data provided by Roy Morgan Research, it shows the average minutes spent per Australian consuming various media content in a week over the past decade.
There’s a clear trend.
With interaction with the internet continuing to soar, time spent reading newspapers and magazines, and watching television, continues to decline.
Only the time listening to radio has managed to buck the broader trends seen in traditional media forms over this period.
It’s pretty clear where the future lies.
