THE DEBT: 2011 Is Different Than 1995 In One Huge Way

With a government default/shutdown looming, there are a lot of comparisons between now and the government shutdown of 1995.

Here’s one huge difference.

Interest payments on the debt, as a percentage of GDP, are about half of what they were back then. (via Matt Busigin).
