Five years ago, Travis Kalanick launched a startup called UberCab in San Francisco.
Fast forward a few years, and Kalanick’s Uber is now one of the hottest companies in Silicon Valley.
As of today, Uber operates in 311 cities in 58 countries, and it’s a global company that could be worth as much as $US50 billion.
Kalanick himself is a paper billionaire: for the first time ever, he made Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires, thanks to Uber’s sky-high valuation. The 38-year-old serial entrepreneur’s net worth is approximately $US5.3 billion, according to Forbes.
