The Inn at Palmetto Bluff

U.S. News & World Report’s travel section has just released itsĀ list of the best hotels in the United States, based on recommendations from the innumerable guides that exist to help you stay informed.Emily H. Bratcher writes that the hotels were chosen not only for their luxury amenities, but “for the way they showcase America’s diversity.”

The winning hotel is the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort located in Bluffton, South Carolina. Set amid the lush forests and rivers of the Carolina Lowcountry, this resort is a haven of natural beauty.

The resort offers a variety of private cottages, one-bedroom cottage suites, and village homes.

The Carolina Lowcountry hosts a beautiful environment of rivers, islands, and marshes, perfect for maritime exploration.

Along with a fireplace, the cottages at this hotel have screened-in porches with water or forest views.

Spaciousness is not in short supply; separate bedrooms are a defining feature.

Taking a dip in the swimming pool is one of many recreational options including horseback riding, hiking, or just lounging.

The high, vaulted ceilings make for a stately atmosphere, though in-room dining is also available.

Luxuriate in the sun or relax at the hotel's spa, which uses the rich soil of the Carolina Lowcountry in its treatment.

A one-week stay in the resort's Forest View Cottage costs about $3,000.

The fitness centre offers a heated horizon lap pool along with yoga and Pilates classes.

The 7,171 yard 18-hole golf course is a beauty to behold; and if you don't golf, instruction is available.
