Initial Jobless Claims FALL To 367K, Beating Expectations

UPDATE: Solid, benign number.

367K is a bit better than expectations, and down from last week’s upwardly revised 379K.

Nothing amazing, but nothing bad.

ORIGINAL POST: The hot number of the day: Initial jobless claims.

Analysts expect 371K, down a touch from 377K.

A couple weeks the numbers were closer to the 350K range, so the tiny uptick isn’t great news, though we’re still in fairly benign shape here.

We’ll have the number here LIVE at 8:30 AM ET.
