TinyChat, a web based video chat service has surpassed 20 Million users. A year and half a ago it had only a half a million users, there’s no doubt that it has shown an exponential rise within a short span of time. This further proves the fact that startups offering meaningful and useful services will continue to evolve and succeed, and tinychat to this fact is no exception.  Tinychat’s chat rooms offer a user to video chat with up to 11 people simultaneously.

Tinychat’s founder Dan Blake shares some interesting data with us.  Some of the highlights: 

  • Site currently sees about 400,000 daily users.
  • Over 50,000 people sign up on the site everyday!
  • Average user spends about good 22 minutes on the site.

TinyChat is a web based service which works with almost every browser and operating system. Some of the famous celebrities who have hosted shows on TinyChat include: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Linkin Park.

Tinychat reported that it has hit profit this year – last year $1.5 Million was raised from a group of investors such as Naval Ravikant, Ashton Kutcher, and Sean Combs. The service has a freemium business model, in which users can upgrade for a better quality and ad-free experience by upgrading to a pro account.
