What are the companies young professionals consider cool? Universum conducted a survey to find out.

It asked more than 10,000 college graduates with one to eight years of work experience which companies they’d most like to work for.  The subjects were given a list of 150 potential employers to choose from and asked to pick up to five.

They could also write in another answer.  Not surprisingly, Facebook was one of the top write-ins.

Tech companies were most desirable, along with non-profits and government organisations.

#11 Peace Corps

5.49% of respondents say they want to work for the Peace Corps

For 24 months, employees for the Peace Corps travel around the world, receive a living allowance, and help people overseas. There are also opportunities for college loan deferment and cancellation.

#10 Teach For America

5.68% of respondents say they want to work for Teach For America

Teach for America is a competitive program for graduating college students who desire to spend two years teaching students in low-income areas. The program allows teachers to work someplace for two years they would have maybe never lived, and has a rigorous training program to produce excellent teachers.

5.75% of respondents say they want to work for NASA

NASA is one of the most well-known space and science companies in the world. From space launches, to satellite images of planets no one has ever seen, employees at NASA learn something interesting everyday.

#8 CIA

6.31% of respondents say they want to work for the CIA

Working for the CIA means being directly involved with protecting the defence of the U.S. CIA employees are constantly collecting and analysing information for the continuing safety of the U.S.

#7 Microsoft

7.66% of respondents say they want to work for Microsoft

More than 15% of Microsoft's 88,000 employees are under the age of 29. With offices all over the world, there are plenty of opportunities to work in many different locations.

#6 FBI

8.31% of respondents say they want to work for the FBI

8.80% of respondents say they want to work for Amazon

Amazon is the leader in e-commerce and just keeps growing, and acquiring more companies each year. Amazon is also a Fortune 500 company, and prides itself on exemplary customer service.

There's no better start for a future diplomat than working at the U.S. Department of State.

9.41% of respondents say they want to work for the Walt Disney Company

There are an unlimited amount of different career opportunities at Disney. Whether you're a creative type, or prefer the business side, Disney has a position for anything. Also, each year Disney appears on 'the best places to work' lists across different publications.
