This is just… wow. Meet Keith Judd. A prisoner in Texas, who is is serving out a 17.5 year sentence for extortion

According to ABC News, he also just won 41 per cent of the Democratic primary vote in West Virginia against Barack Obama.

As Dave Weigel of Slate points out, that means Judd has won a higher percentage of the primary vote against Barack Obama than anyone else. Even Hilary Clinton wasn’t this competitive.

All told, Judd won 8 counties outright. And because of West Virginia’s rules, Judd should have delegates representing him at the Democratic Convention this summer.

Obama only won 26 per cent of the vote in the West Virginia Democratic primary four years ago. But he was facing popular senators, not a felonious extortionist.
