Hulu Plus Is A Hit

The future of Hulu remains very much in doubt – to sell or not to sell – but the eventual owners will be pleased with Hulu Plus.

The service, which costs $8 per month, will soon account for 50% of Hulu’s revenue, CEO Jason Kilar said.

In August, Hulu Plus reached one million subscribers.

The company is trying to figure out ways to increase revenue, including allowing users to swap out ads for more relevant ones.

It is still on the sales block – with Dish as the highest bidder – but it seems as though the owners are souring on the idea of selling. The success of Hulu Plus is one reason for keeping it around.
