Every year for Halloween, Bette Midler throws a big party for her charity, the New York Restoration Project.

The party, held at NYC’s swanky Waldorf Astoria is a night filled with celebrity sightings, good food, great music and hefty donations to NYRP, which transforms space in underserved communities into parks and gardens which provide food, beauty, and a community place to go and relax.

Guests at the event included Martha Stewart, John McEnroe, and musical guest Stevie Wonder who brought the house down at the end of the night. Everyone was in full costume- some were so elaborate that guests had to dismantle parts of them in order to sit down for dinner.

And this year, we were lucky enough to score an invitation.

Here's the invitation to Hulaween 2011.

And a mariachi band played as guests entered the main room.

Mexican singer/actress Thalia Mottola got decked out for the event.

And celebrity chef Rick Bayless was responsible for the delicious food- he dressed as a skeleton.

It was hard to recognise Debra Messing!

But it was definitely not hard to spot Carmelo Anthony- he towered over everyone.

And Martha Stewart was there.

Michael Kors, as a zombie mariachi musician (we think?) judged the costume contest.

Which was won by the 27 club! See the tombstones?

And master of ceremonies Judy Gold made a great Chaz Bono.

She got the crowd warmed up with lots of jokes.

And then she and Bette Midler herself sang a song to kick off the auction.

And the lead auctioneer from Sotheby's was there to help get donations.

John McEnroe got up to give a donation.

And walked on stage to get lei'd by Bette.

We think Superman was up past his bedtime.

We got a shot of her after she walked off stage!

But highlight of the night was Stevie Wonder.

He played a long medley of originals and covers that had the crowd going wild.

Everyone was up singing and dancing.

And at the end, Bette came out and sang with him.
